I went to school to study advertising. On campus, everybody leaves you alone and loves your work. Then you graduate and realize that every client hates your work, reminds you that you’re lucky to have them as a client, and then tells you to make their advertising “jazzy” while providing self-written examples for reference. But once you convince them that not every ad has to feature a kid, puppy, or daisy — and not every great idea originates from out of thin air (yes, there is a strategy) — hey, you’re on your way. That’s how you develop thick skin. That’s my story/I see you nodding/we have a lot in common.
